History
HISTORY
Formed in 2010 as a support arm to the Philippine Alliance, the primary goal of the institution is to provide technical assistance to urban poor communities in their upgrading initiatives and to promote community-led processes, guided by the belief that communities have the capacity to find solutions to issues affecting them and that they should be the prime planners of their own development.
TAMPEI operates within the Philippine Alliance, a group of non-governmental institutions promoting community-led initiatives in human settlements development. At the core of the Alliance is the Homeless People’s Federation Philippines Inc. (HPFPI) with expertise on community mobilization and implementation of savings program. The Philippine Action for Community-led Shelter Initiatives Inc. (PACSII) acts as the legal and financial partner-NGO of HPFPI. TAMPEI is the technical arm. LinkBuild Inc. is a housing development enterprise. Community Resources for the Advancement of Capable Societies (CoReACS) is a micro-finance institution supporting the housing schemes of HPFPI.
